This week’s illustration was inspired by my part-time job at a gelato store! Here are only a few of the flavours we have in the store… There are probably five times as much! My personal favourite is the Pear & Cheese (it taste better than it sounds!) and Romel’s favorite is the Kinder Surprise and …

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been interning at a local marketing company as a graphic designer. I’m enjoying the experience thus far and now, I would love to push myself further. I’ve decided to challenge myself to design some sort of weekly illustration which I will showcase here on the blog. I don’t …

Today marks the last day of our sewing lessons. Four weeks ago, Romel and I enrolled into a Beginner’s Sewing Class with the Vancouver School Board. It included 8 two and a half hour sessions, twice a week, for four weeks. The structure of the class was very laid back and our instructor, MaryAn, was …

It’s been a very long break but we are finally back. It’s still a “soft launch” (as Romel puts it) but it’s definitely better than nothing! I am so happy to be blogging again and we have a lot of awesome new ideas for The Best of Both 2.0. So what have I been up …

Get To Know Us

The Best of Both started in 2012 as a blog of a boy and a girl with a wide variety of interests, from fashion and video games to biochemistry and computer science. The blog was a medium to challenge each other to be creative, share their ideas + perspectives, and capture their adventures.

A couple of years later, life happened – they got engaged, he moved to San Francisco, she moved to Toronto, and they got married in Vancouver somewhere in between. After months of traveling back + forth, he moved to Toronto, where she stayed up late listening to Counterstrike strats and he unwillingly participated in Saturday morning cleaning. Fast forward, they had many more adventures, got a puppy named Simcoe (the name of the street of their Toronto home), and shipped all of their things across the country (i.e. his board games + collectibles, her textbooks + shoes).
